  Introduction In India, marriage is considered a sacred bond and is protected by law. What is Domestic Violence? Domestic Violence means any form of abuse—physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, or economic—committed against a woman by her husband or any family member in a domestic relationship. It is not just physical beating; mental harassment, insults, threats, financial control, and denial of basic needs also amount to domestic violence.
